5 facts about this card
This 1st Edition Jungle Mr. Mime is the non-holo counterpart to Jungle’s holo Mr. Mime, carrying the same famously disruptive Invisible Wall Pokémon Power that made the card a defensive nightmare in early WotC play.
The artwork is by Ken Sugimori, the original Pokémon character designer, which gives this card the unmistakable early-era Game Freak look collectors chase in vintage sets.
Mr. Mime was especially memorable in Pokémon Red and Blue because it was one of the few species you could only obtain through an in-game trade, swapping Abra on Route 2 for the traded Mr. Mime.
Mr. Mime became even more iconic in the anime through 'Mimey,' the Mr. Mime that ended up living with Delia Ketchum after the events of 'It's Mr. Mime Time,' giving the species a lasting place in Ash’s home life.
Jungle was the second main Pokémon TCG expansion after Base Set, so pulling a 1st Edition rare from it means holding a piece of the game’s very first wave of expansion-era history.
