A public discount becomes an anchor price, and once buyers see that number, inflated local asks look even worse. Good for patient sealed buyers, not great for stores trying to hold premium pricing.

Different cards, same thesis, pop count and long-term defensibility matter more than pure Charizard liquidity right now. I like seeing that kind of early buzz because it helps identify future chase cards before previews harden the market. But there’s no confirmed pricing signal yet, and no supply read. Posts about scratched slabs, minor whitening disputes, and authenticity checks on regional prints all point in the same direction, buyers are getting stricter. That usually happens when pricing gets choppier. In easy markets, people overlook small flaws. In selective markets, they don’t. Expect stronger spreads between clean copies and merely acceptable ones over the next few weeks.
