Retail Supply Expands, Promos Stay Hot

Ascended Heroes gets a Sam’s Club push while promo and grading plays lead the tape

The market still feels bifurcated this morning. Broad sealed supply is loosening a bit with another big-box channel stepping in, but actual collector money is still crowding into scarce promos, oddball exclusives, and clean grading targets.

The big caution flag is the movers board. A lot of the 7-day gainers and losers are too extreme to trust at face value, so the real read comes from product news, sentiment shifts, and where graded premiums still make sense.

Quick Takes

  • Ascended Heroes sealed probably softens into the Sam’s Club release window. Don’t chase sealed boxes this week unless you’re getting a real discount.
  • Shining Legends still looks like the best rip among the tracked sets. White Flare is fine. Crown Zenith is a hold-or-wait, not a buy-now rip play.
  • Promo and stamped cards remain the best hunting ground, but only if you verify comp quality. A lot of today’s triple-digit and four-digit moves are thin-market noise.

Ascended Heroes gets a fresh retail wave, short-term sealed pressure looks real.

Sam’s Club is adding the Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection on July 21 at $54.98, with online and in-store availability plus a two-per-membership limit. That’s not a flood, but it is enough to cool any short-term scarcity narrative around sealed Ascended Heroes product. Near term, that’s mildly bearish for sealed flips. Longer term, wider placement is healthy because more visibility usually means more rips, more social chatter, and a stronger collector base around the set.

Price Movers To Watch

Eevee Stamped, Majestic Dawn, +996.51% 7d
Ignore the headline number, watch the category. Stamped Eevee cards have the exact mix the market likes right now, nostalgia, character demand, and awkward supply. If clean copies keep getting absorbed, this can hold part of the move even if the reported gain gets cut in half by better comp data.
Dragonite EX/SV-P
Dragonite EX SV-P, +996.09% 7d
Raw NM $21.74
Dragonite has become one of the safest character bets in the hobby, especially in Japanese promo form. This move fits the broader promo strength story better than most names on the board. If more copies surface, expect volatility, but I wouldn’t call this random.
Rapidash WoTC Promo, +991.8% 7d
Another case where the percentage is probably nonsense but the buyer behavior is real. WoTC promos continue to get picked through, especially for cards that were ignored for years and now feel cheap relative to the big names.
Mewtwo Gold Star, sentiment down
No giant price print here, but the negative sentiment matters because it clashes with the China product news featuring Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex. That tells me collectors are happy to chase fresh Mewtwo-adjacent product, but they’re not blindly bidding every Mewtwo card higher. High-end vintage still needs the right price to move.
Crown Zenith EV weakness
This isn’t a single-card move, but it matters more than most of the noisy gainers list. A 0.78x pack EV ratio means ripping sealed is underwater. That usually caps raw single upside unless a few chase cards start breaking away hard.

Grading Spotlight

Ash Greninja EX, TV Tokyo Lottery
Raw sits around $6.30, PSA 10 around $16,999.50, with a 56.3% gem rate. The listed ROI is absurd on paper, 103,895%, and obviously this is the kind of card where copy quality, authenticity, and market depth matter more than any spreadsheet. Still, the spread is so massive that even after grading fees and the reality of low transaction volume, this remains a serious lottery-ticket grading target if you can source a legitimate clean copy.
Cinccino Master Ball
Raw is $12.83, PSA 10 is $26.74, with a strong 66.7% gem rate. The headline ROI is listed at 35,897%, which is clearly inflated by the source math, but the setup itself is still solid because the gem rate is healthy and the buy-in is low. This is the kind of small, repeatable submission that works better in practice than the super exotic moonshot cards.
Watchlist mention, Houndour
Raw at $11.10, PSA 10 at $155.28, gem rate 24.2%. Lower hit rate, much bigger upside. This is a cherry-pick card, not a bulk submission card.
