The market still feels bifurcated this morning. Broad sealed supply is loosening a bit with another big-box channel stepping in, but actual collector money is still crowding into scarce promos, oddball exclusives, and clean grading targets.

The big caution flag is the movers board. A lot of the 7-day gainers and losers are too extreme to trust at face value, so the real read comes from product news, sentiment shifts, and where graded premiums still make sense.

Sam’s Club is adding the Ascended Heroes Focused Fighters Premium Collection on July 21 at $54.98, with online and in-store availability plus a two-per-membership limit. That’s not a flood, but it is enough to cool any short-term scarcity narrative around sealed Ascended Heroes product. Near term, that’s mildly bearish for sealed flips. Longer term, wider placement is healthy because more visibility usually means more rips, more social chatter, and a stronger collector base around the set.

China’s premium product slate is feeding collector appetite for region-specific sealed.

Pokemon China is rolling out three higher-end products on July 16, led by the Team Rocket briefcase gift box at 780 yuan, plus Lillie and N boxes at 390 yuan each. Character-driven premium boxes tend to hit the collector brain fast, especially when there’s a promo hook like Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex. That lines up with the market’s ongoing preference for display-friendly sealed and exclusive promos over generic modern singles.

Promo mania is still alive, but the top gainers list looks dirty.

Eevee Stamped from Majestic Dawn, Dragonite EX SV-P, and Rapidash WoTC Promo all posted roughly 990% to 996% 7-day gains. On paper that looks insane, and that’s because it probably is. These kinds of spikes usually come from stale comps getting replaced by one or two outlier sales. The important part is not the exact percentage, it’s the direction. Collectors are still paying up for quirky promos, stamped cards, and low-circulation pieces.

Sentiment is rotating toward battle-focused modern chase cards, not nostalgia staples.

Mega Emboar ex posted an 80 sentiment score on 17 mentions, easily the cleanest positive social signal in today’s set. Meanwhile Mewtwo Gold Star slipped to a negative sentiment read on four mentions, and Espeon EX also turned lower. That’s a useful tell. Hype is flowing toward newer playable or flashy ex cards right now, while some older grails are hitting a pause as buyers get pickier on price.

Sealed EV still has a clear winner, and it isn’t changing yet.

Shining Legends remains the standout at a 2.64x pack EV ratio, good for a 164% margin. White Flare is still positive at 1.27x, which is respectable. Crown Zenith sits at 0.78x, a negative 22% margin, confirming yesterday’s warning that the set is sliding into weaker rip economics. If you’re buying sealed to open, Shining Legends still looks strongest by a mile. If you’re buying sealed to hold, Crown Zenith needs a much better entry than current levels.

No giant price print here, but the negative sentiment matters because it clashes with the China product news featuring Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex. That tells me collectors are happy to chase fresh Mewtwo-adjacent product, but they’re not blindly bidding every Mewtwo card higher. High-end vintage still needs the right price to move.
