Anniversary preorders are live as Topps Chrome climbs and Prize Pack cards keep sliding

Today's market has a pretty clear split again. Sealed product got a fresh jolt after 30th Celebration preorders opened on Pokemon Center, while singles stayed selective, with 2000 Topps Chrome cards still climbing and a long list of Prize Pack cards still getting cheaper.

That lines up with the rest of the data. Shining Legends remains the standout rip at 2.72x pack EV, White Flare is still positive at 1.19x, and Crown Zenith is still underwater at 0.78x, so collectors are paying up for scarcity and nostalgia, not just opening whatever is cheapest.

30th Celebration sealed looks like the better near-term hold than most modern singles. If preorder limits stay tight, I'd rather park money in sealed than chase broad release-week singles.

The bigger takeaway is simple: sealed attention is back on the anniversary line, and if allocations stay tight, sealed prices should hold up better than most modern singles into release.

Topps Chrome keeps acting like the market's strongest niche.

Yesterday's trend didn't fade. Arcanine [Sparkle] and regular Arcanine both gained 40.0% over 30 days to $210.00. Jolteon [Tekno] added 39.7% to $209.56. Gengar [Sparkle] climbed 13.8% to $441.83, while regular Gengar matched that move. This isn't random. Collectors are chasing scarce late-90s and 2000-era oddball pieces with real display appeal, and the PSA 10 spreads are still massive, from $3,733.20 for Arcanine [Sparkle] to $23,828.06 for Gengar [Sparkle]. That's strong confirmation that buyers want top-condition copies, not just placeholders.

Prize Pack singles are still in a supply correction.

Radiant Charizard [Prize Pack] was the big exception, up 25.02% to $107.55, but most of the category is still falling hard. Eevee ex [Prize Pack] dropped 49.18% to $52.67. Lugia V fell 23.21% to $122.31. Mewtwo VSTAR slid 21.38% to $55.16. Vaporeon ex and Espeon ex were down 21.09% and 19.77%. That tells me the market is separating true chase cards from the rest. Charizard and Blaziken V can still attract bids, but broad Prize Pack exposure has been a bad hold lately.

Pack value still favors older special sets over broad modern ripping.

This one stands out because it breaks from the broader Topps Chrome strength. With PSA 10 averaging $989.88, the slab premium is still there, but not nearly as dramatic as the biggest gainers. If buyers keep favoring flashier variants like Sparkle and Tekno, regular Mew may keep lagging.

Charizard [Prerelease] from Evolutions, $2,512.48, up 12.72%.

This looks like steady high-end nostalgia demand, not a quick spike. The PSA 10 average at $5,769.57 leaves room for clean raws, and Charizard remains the safest place for buyers who want a recognizable trophy-style modern-era card.

The gem rate is 21.0%, so this isn't a blind bulk submission card, but the entry cost is low enough that careful copy selection makes sense. Look for centering first, then edge whitening.
