Shining Legends stays hot as players eye Raging Bolt

Sealed EV still favors proven product, while Worlds chatter starts to lift deck targets

Today's market feels split in a pretty clean way. Collectors are still paying for proven sealed, with Shining Legends standing out at a 3.07x pack EV ratio, while weaker modern product keeps getting picked apart, especially White Flare at 0.96x and Crown Zenith at 0.67x. On the singles side, Worlds talk is starting to matter more, and Raging Bolt ex is getting fresh attention as a real deck choice instead of just a fringe call.
That lines up with the mood shift from yesterday. Nostalgia is still driving plenty of buying, but now competitive players are starting to reposition, and that usually shows up in staples first, then in the chase cards tied to winning lists.
Top stories
Raging Bolt ex is getting a real second look ahead of Worlds.
The big story from the play side is simple: players are actively talking about Raging Bolt ex as an overlooked Standard deck for the 2026 World Championship. The case for it is matchup based, with several of its old problem decks seeing less pressure. That does not guarantee a breakout, but this kind of discussion matters because demand often moves before results do. If Raging Bolt posts even one strong Worlds finish, expect the deck's key pieces and generic support cards to tighten fast. Right now, this is still an early positioning story, not a full price spike story.
Sealed buyers keep choosing winners and skipping weak EV product.
The sealed market is not rising across the board. It's picky. Shining Legends remains the clear standout with a 207% implied margin from pack EV. That's the kind of number that keeps rippers interested and gives sealed collectors confidence that the box still has a reason to exist beyond shelf appeal. Compare that with White Flare, which is sitting below breakeven at -4%, and Crown Zenith at -33%. That gap tells you buyers are doing the math. They still want sealed, just not all sealed.
Older singles are ripping higher, but not all of it looks equally safe.
Koga's Trap from Unbroken Bonds is up 149.0% in 30 days to $35.50. White Kyurem EX from Plasma Storm climbed 146.54% to $5.10. Altaria GX from Dragon Majesty rose 144.84% to $8.75, and even Shadowless Weedle jumped 147.81% to $4.38. That's a broad nostalgia and low-pop style move, but be careful. Some of these jumps are happening from tiny raw bases, which means the percentage gains look huge even when liquidity is still thin. The cards with real staying power are the ones that also have strong graded demand, and a few here do.
White Flare is already showing post-release cracks.
The cleanest warning sign on today's board is Leavanny from White Flare, down 49.96% over 30 days to $39.68. Its PSA 10 average is still $243.13, so high-grade copies have not fully rolled over, but the raw card is telling you supply is catching up. That fits the set-level EV too. When a set sits under breakeven, weaker singles usually get hit first. This is one of those cases where the card data confirms the sealed data.
Social chatter is cooling on some trophy names.
Sentiment turned negative on Mega Charizard EX at -60.0, M Rayquaza EX at -80.0, and even booster boxes broadly at -46.67. That's not panic, it's fatigue. A lot of premium names ran hard on nostalgia and anniversary buzz, and now some buyers are balking at the new ask prices. One exception is Rayquaza EX, which posted improving sentiment at 80.0. That tells me collectors are still willing to chase dragon-era and EX-era icons, just not every card at every number.

This looks like a mix of trainer full art demand and late Sun and Moon catch-up buying. The move is real, but after a near 150% rip, I wouldn't chase sloppy copies. Clean raws still make sense if you're grading picky.
White Kyurem EX, Plasma Storm, $5.10, up 146.54%.White Kyurem EX · Pokemon Plasma StormNM$5.10PSA 10$205.29+5.3%
The raw price is still low enough that buyers feel like they're stealing it, and that usually keeps a run alive longer than expected. The bigger tell is the PSA 10 average at $205.29. That's a huge spread. If you can source near-mint copies carefully, this still isn't dead.
Altaria GX, Dragon Majesty, $8.75, up 144.84%.Altaria GX · Pokemon Dragon MajestyNM$8.75PSA 10$120.46+6.1%
Dragon Majesty keeps getting revisited whenever dragon collectors start spending. This is a classic case of a niche set with limited attention suddenly getting repriced. I like it less after the jump, but I do like the set theme.
Decliners
Leavanny, White Flare, $39.68, down 49.96%.Leavanny · Pokemon White FlareNM$39.68PSA 10$243.13-6.6%
This is what happens when early set pricing outruns actual demand. Unless White Flare gets a second wave of collector interest, I think more cards from the set follow this path before they stabilize.
Also watching
Shadowless Weedle, Base Set, $4.38, up 147.81%.
This is the kind of card that sounds silly until you look at the PSA 10 average of $213.36. Shadowless commons in top grade are their own market. Not liquid like a Charizard, but real. Condition is everything here.

Sabrina's Gastly, 1st EditionSabrina's Gastly [1st Edition] · Pokemon Gym ChallengeNM$12.13PSA 10$402.50+41.9%
Raw copies average $12.13, while PSA 10 averages $402.50. That's a headline 792% ROI, with a 29.0% gem rate. The play is obvious, but don't buy every cheap copy you see. This is only great if you can screen for centering and surface.
NidoranNidoran · Pokemon AquapolisNM$11.04PSA 10$391.35+33.7%
Raw is $11.04, PSA 10 is $391.35, and ROI sits at 789% with a 41.7% gem rate. That's one of the better risk-reward profiles on today's list because the gem rate is meaningfully better than some of the flashier names.
Bonus high-risk slab target, Flygon
Raw copies are $41.52 and PSA 10 averages $1,076.70, good for 786% ROI. The catch is the 15.4% gem rate. Big upside, brutal miss rate. This is for sharp graders only.

Community Pulse

Collector chatter is still nostalgia heavy, but the tone changed a bit from yesterday. People are more selective now. The broad excitement around sealed has cooled, with booster box sentiment at -46.67, which fits the weak EV on several modern sets.

On the singles side, social posts are getting less friendly toward expensive headline cards like Mega Charizard EX and M Rayquaza EX. That reads like price resistance, not a collapse. Meanwhile, the improving tone around Rayquaza EX suggests collectors still want iconic cards, they just want cleaner entry points. On the player side, Raging Bolt ex chatter is constructive. If that discussion keeps building through the weekend, staples tied to the deck should firm up fast.
