Collectors keep chasing scarce singles

Oddball winners keep climbing while pack EV stays firmly underwater

Today’s market looks a lot like yesterday’s, but the split is even clearer. Scarce singles are still getting bought fast, with Black Bolt Solosis up 148.65% in 30 days to $29.73 and Cosmic Eclipse Oricorio GX up 148.26% to $6.96, while opening packs remains a losing bet with the best EV ratio stuck at 0.73x for Journey Together.
That tells you where collector money is going. People want hard-to-replace cards and clean grading candidates, not sealed product to rip for value.
Top stories
Thin-supply singles are still beating everything else.
Solosis from Black Bolt nearly tripled over the last month, and that’s not random. At $29.73 raw with a PSA 10 average of $396.88, buyers are paying for scarcity and slab upside at the same time. Oricorio GX shows the same pattern on a smaller ticket, climbing to $6.96 raw while PSA 10 copies average $100.67. This confirms the trend from yesterday’s brief, collectors are rewarding cards that don’t show up often, even if they aren’t the headline chase cards from their sets.
Prismatic Evolutions pullbacks are getting ugly.
Slowpoke Master Ball from Prismatic Evolutions dropped 49.48% over 30 days to $7.70. That’s a hard reset, and it looks more like supply catching up than a broad collapse in demand. The PSA 10 average is still $141.18, so graded copies hold some appeal, but the raw market is telling a clear story, buyers aren’t willing to keep paying early premium prices once more copies hit the market.
Pack ripping still doesn’t work on paper.
Journey Together leads the EV board at just 0.73x, with Destined Rivals right behind at 0.72x and Crown Zenith at 0.65x. None of those numbers are close to break-even. That matters because weak pack value usually pushes more disciplined buyers toward singles. It also helps explain why weird standalone cards are moving while sealed product doesn’t have the same broad support from value-focused buyers.
Charizard talk is mixed, not bullish.
Sentiment improved for Shining Charizard, posting a 60.0 score, but general Charizard sentiment came in sharply negative at -60.0. That contradiction matters. Collectors still want iconic, high-end Charizard pieces, but they’re getting more selective and less willing to blindly chase every Charizard listing. The brand is still strong, the easy money isn’t.

This one still looks more approachable. Sub-$7 raw with PSA 10s averaging $100.67 gives it a cleaner entry point than Solosis. Cosmic Eclipse keeps proving that overlooked GX and character-driven cards can wake up fast when collectors start picking through old set checklists.
Slowpoke Master Ball, Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions, $7.70, down 49.48%Slowpoke [Master Ball] · Pokemon Prismatic EvolutionsNM$7.70PSA 10$141.18+16.1%
This is the clearest warning sign on the board. A near-50% slide in a month says the market got ahead of itself. If you like the card, waiting has been the right move. If you’re holding extras, this is what a hype unwind looks like before the market finds a real floor.
Decliners
Solosis, Pokemon Black Bolt, $29.73, up 148.65% in 30 daysSolosis · Pokemon Black BoltNM$29.73PSA 10$396.88-13.5%
This is the kind of move that makes people do a double take. A near-$30 raw on Solosis sounds silly until you look at the PSA 10 average of $396.88. That price gap is pulling in grading-minded buyers, and once a card gets thin enough, a few strong sales can reset the market fast. I wouldn’t call it cheap anymore, but I also wouldn’t rush to short a card with this little supply.

Community Pulse

The social chatter is small in volume today, so I’d treat it as directional, not decisive. The standout is improving sentiment around Shining Charizard, while broad Charizard talk is negative. That usually means collectors still love the top-shelf grails but are pushing back on weaker or overpriced Charizard inventory.

Pikachu Reverse Holo also leaned negative at -40.0, and Shining Magikarp 600 Fan Club slipped to -20.0. N’s Reshiram Stamped was flat at 0.0. The tone overall feels picky, not panicked. People are still buying, they’re just getting choosier about what deserves a premium.
