Vintage oddballs keep running while modern cards slide
Skyridge, promos, and tough PSA 10s led again as weak pack EV hit newer cards
Today's market looks a lot like yesterday's, but the split got even clearer. Older niche cards, especially oddball promos, Skyridge singles, and anything with a brutal PSA 10 pop, kept ripping higher, while newer cards tied to recent hype kept giving back gains.
The sealed picture says the same thing. 30th Celebration is still sitting at a 1.93x pack EV, while Destined Rivals and Journey Together are both stuck at 0.69x. People aren't chasing packs for value in those newer sets, they're cherry-picking singles instead, and even that demand looks selective.
Community Pulse
Collectors are still talking like this is a stock-picker market, not a rising-tide market. The chatter around Lugia was notably weaker today, and that matches the broader cooling we're seeing in modern and recently pumped names. Sentiment on Darkrai also leaned negative, which fits the more cautious tone across social channels.
There was some positive buzz around Dark Espeon and Vileplume GX, but the mention count was tiny. Right now the stronger signal is caution, not excitement. People still want hits, but they're being pickier about where they put money.
