White Flare singles keep running as sealed lags

Joltik leads another selective rally, while Mewtwo GX keeps sliding

Today’s market still looks very selective. Cheap-to-mid priced singles with low-pop upside kept ripping, especially in White Flare and older niche cards, while sealed math stayed ugly for newer product and one of the bigger recent losers, Mewtwo GX from Japanese GX Ultra Shiny, kept bleeding.
That fits yesterday’s setup. This is still not a broad move higher. Collectors are chasing specific cards they think were left behind, and they’re avoiding boxes where expected value doesn’t justify the rip.
Top stories
White Flare has a live single, but not a sealed win.
Joltik from White Flare jumped 147.82% over the last 30 days to $29.25, making it one of the clearest examples of buyers piling into overlooked art rares and lower-supply hits. But the set’s pack EV ratio sits at just 0.55x, a negative 45% margin. That matters. People want the card, not the box. When singles rise while sealed EV stays this weak, it usually means collectors are cherry-picking instead of ripping product in size.
Vintage and oddball cards are still beating the modern headliners.
Koga’s Beedrill 1st Edition from Gym Challenge is up 149.29% to $137.10, and Fossil Ditto climbed 148.46% to $14.86. Those are not headline chase cards in the usual sense, which is exactly the point. Buyers are reaching into older binders for cards that feel scarcer than their price tags suggested a month ago. This is the same pattern we saw yesterday with off-center demand moving into less obvious names instead of the usual blue-chip staples.
Condition-sensitive modern cards are getting repriced fast.
Maushold from Paldea Evolved is up 147.01% to $89.93, while its PSA 10 average sits at $1,398.17. Jolteon from Brilliant Stars rose 147.11% to $16.87 with a PSA 10 average of $429.09. Lucario from Sword & Shield Promos gained 147.07% to $5.83, PSA 10 average $278.86. That kind of spread tells you the market is paying heavily for clean copies. Raw prices are moving, but slabs are still where the real premium sits.
Mewtwo GX is still unwinding.
Mewtwo GX from Japanese GX Ultra Shiny fell 48.63% over 30 days to $77.70, with PSA 10 averaging $268.52. That’s a sharp reset, and it looks more like overownership getting cleared than a one-day panic. When a recognizable card drops this hard while fringe gainers are exploding, it’s a sign the market is rotating away from previously crowded names and into cards with less obvious supply.
Sealed remains a tale of two products.
30th Celebration is the only set on today’s EV board that really looks healthy, with a 1.67x pack EV ratio and a 67% margin. Crown Zenith sits at 0.64x, and White Flare is even weaker at 0.55x. That’s a clean message from the numbers. If you’re ripping, 30th Celebration has support. If you’re buying sealed White Flare or Crown Zenith for pack value, you’re betting on sealed scarcity or long-term nostalgia, not current contents.

Gainers
Koga’s Beedrill 1st Edition, Gym Challenge, $137.10, up 149.29%.Koga's Beedrill [1st Edition] · Pokemon Gym ChallengeNM$137.10PSA 10$9531.22+5.2%
Vintage liquidity is still thin, so price spikes can look dramatic. Still, this isn’t random. Collectors have been moving into older 1st Edition cards that don’t get the same attention as Gengar, Charizard, or the big holos. I wouldn’t chase a vertical move here, but I also wouldn’t call it fake.
Decliners
Joltik, White Flare, $29.25, up 147.82%.Joltik · Pokemon White FlareNM$29.25PSA 10$334.52-21.8%
This is the card everyone should be watching today. The move is too large to ignore, and it’s happening while White Flare sealed EV stays poor. That usually means supply of nice singles is tighter than expected. If copies start flooding the market, this cools off fast. If not, Joltik can hold higher than people think.
Maushold, Paldea Evolved, $89.93, up 147.01%.Maushold · Pokemon Paldea EvolvedNM$89.93PSA 10$1398.17-12.0%
This looks like a condition story as much as a demand story. A near-$1.4k PSA 10 average keeps pressure on raw near-mint copies. If you’ve got clean raws sitting in a binder, this is one of the clearest “check your corners now” cards on the board.
Mewtwo GX, Japanese GX Ultra Shiny, $77.70, down 48.63%.Mewtwo GX · Pokemon Japanese GX Ultra ShinyNM$77.70PSA 10$268.52-0.9%
This is the main warning sign today. The card is famous enough that buyers will step in eventually, but nearly a 49% drop in 30 days says there’s still inventory looking for an exit. Let it base before trying to catch the knife.
Grading spotlight90 day trend
Squirtle looks like the best raw-to-slab swing.Squirtle · Pokemon Fire Red & Leaf GreenNM$31.24PSA 10$860.00+9.5%
Raw copies average $31.24, while PSA 10 averages $860. That’s a 794% ROI before grading fees and shipping, with a 25.5% gem rate. Those odds aren’t amazing, but they’re good enough to justify careful cherry-picking. Don’t buy average copies. Buy surface-clean copies only, because the upside is real.
Misty’s Starmie 1st Edition is high risk, high reward.Misty's Starmie [1st Edition] · Pokemon Gym HeroesNM$11.00PSA 10$392.50+10.0%
Raw is just $11.00, PSA 10 averages $392.50, good for 792% ROI. The catch is the 17.7% gem rate. That’s low. If you know how to screen whitening and holo scratches, there’s money here. If you don’t, you’ll brick submissions.
Blaziken is still viable if you can grade selectively.Blaziken · Pokemon POP Series 1NM$16.18PSA 10$436.92+68.7%
Raw sits at $16.18 and PSA 10 at $436.92, a 789% ROI with a 16.2% gem rate. The spread is great, the hit rate is not. This is a bulk-box hunter’s play, not a blind eBay buy.

Community Pulse

Collectors are talking more positively about older shiny and nostalgic pieces again. Shining Magikarp posted one of the strongest sentiment improvements today at 80.0 across 7 mentions, which lines up with the broader move into older, harder-to-replace cards.

On the other side, sentiment on Sabrina’s Gengar turned sharply negative at -67.69 across 13 mentions. That’s enough volume to matter. Usually when a card that popular goes sour in discussion, it means buyers are pushing back on price, condition, or both. Mega Sableye & Tyranitar GX also improved to 55.0, a smaller signal, but it suggests tag team interest still has a pulse.
