Older singles led the week while sealed stayed picky

Shining Legends held up, Japanese singles reset, and grading stayed the best angle

This week had a very clear split. Money kept flowing into older English singles, vintage oddballs, GX and EX chase cards, and low-pop grading targets, while a lot of Japanese singles kept resetting hard. Sealed interest improved in conversation, but buyers were selective, and the math only really backed that excitement in a few places, especially Shining Legends.
That mattered more as the week went on. By the weekend, the market looked less like broad collector hype and more like a condition-driven hunt for cards with strong PSA 10 ceilings and cheap or still-reasonable raw entry points.
Grading spotlight90 day trend
Raikou Holo from POP Series 2Raikou [Holo] · Pokemon POP Series 2NM$24.60PSA 10$804.11+23.0%
Raw copies are $24.60, PSA 10 is $804.11, for a 798% ROI. This was the best clean grading setup on the final weekly sheet. The raw price is still manageable, and the slab ceiling is high enough to matter.
Sabrina's Gastly 1st Edition from Gym ChallengeSabrina's Gastly [1st Edition] · Pokemon Gym ChallengeNM$12.24PSA 10$405.00+30.8%
Raw is $12.24, PSA 10 is $405.00, a 795% ROI. This fits the exact vintage pattern the market rewarded all week, low entry, recognizable WOTC-era card, and strong gem-mint upside.
Also worth a look, Flaaffy from Expedition
Raw is $6.50 and PSA 10 is $353.61, good for 795% ROI. If this week taught anything, it's that cheap older cards with real slab premiums are still where sharp collectors can find value.

Community Pulse

The community got more positive on sealed through the week, especially booster boxes and stashable premium product, but not in a reckless way. People were asking better questions about rip value, and that caution was justified by the EV numbers.

On singles, sentiment was selective. Gengar 1st Edition and Charizard holo chatter improved at points, and Starmie V also got some positive mentions. But several headline names cooled off, including M Rayquaza EX early, then Jolteon ex, Dark Gyarados reverse holo, and Dark Charizard by the weekend. The mood wasn't broad FOMO. It was more like collectors saying, "show me the card, show me the condition, and show me why this one matters."
