About this card
Sightseer Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Card History
Sightseer is one of Lost Thunder’s alternate-number uncommons, with the set’s official checklist showing the card as 189 while collector references also track the variant as 189a—an odd little numbering quirk that makes it stand out to set builders.
Artist
This Lost Thunder print was illustrated by Naoki Saito, an artist especially celebrated by collectors for expressive Trainer artwork, which helps explain why even a non-holo Supporter like Sightseer has such strong character appeal.
Cultural Impact
Sightseer isn’t just a card invention—the character is an official Trainer class introduced in Generation VII, giving this Supporter a direct link to the Alola-era games rather than a generic NPC design.
Artist
Bulbapedia notes that the Lost Thunder artwork shows Sightseer taking a photo on her phone, while a later alternate print appears to show the very same scene from the camera’s point of view, creating a rare cross-card visual story for collectors to chase.
Set Lore
Lost Thunder was the eighth main expansion of the Sun & Moon Series, released in English on November 2, 2018, and its mix of Generation VII Pokémon, Prism Star cards, and Johto nostalgia gives even smaller Trainer pulls like Sightseer a memorable place in one of the era’s biggest sets.
