Eevee [1st Edition] Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Card History
This Neo Discovery Eevee introduced the original "Energy Evolution" Pokémon Power, a mechanic so iconic that later Eevee cards revived it as an Ability years afterward.
Set Lore
For collectors, this card is a true bridge between regions: the English Neo Discovery print came from Japan’s Crossing the Ruins... expansion, tying it directly to the early Johto-era boom of the TCG.
In-Game
Eevee’s whole identity is about adaptation, and this card captures that perfectly by turning a single Energy attachment into a chance to jump straight into the matching Evolution line.
Artist
Aya Kusube illustrated this card, giving Eevee the soft storybook look that makes many early Wizards-era commons and uncommons feel especially nostalgic in binder pages today.
Cultural Impact
Eevee’s popularity grew so far beyond its original Red and Blue debut that it eventually became the starring mascot and starter of Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, which makes early cards like this feel like the roots of a future franchise icon.
