Mew ex Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Card History
This Paldean Fates Special Illustration Rare is the shiny reprint of the Pokémon Card 151 Mew ex, keeping the same Restart Ability and Genome Hacking attack while giving collectors a new USGMEN artwork for Shiny Mew.
Set Lore
Mew ex #232 appears in Scarlet & Violet—Paldean Fates as part of the set’s special illustration rare lineup, a shiny-focused expansion built around the return of Shiny Pokémon to the Pokémon TCG.
In-Game
Genome Hacking feels especially on-theme for Mew because multiple Pokédex entries say its DNA contains the genetic codes of all Pokémon, which is why Mew is often treated as a genetic origin point in the games’ lore.
Card History
For collectors, every big Mew card carries extra weight because Mew’s clash with Mewtwo in Pokémon: The First Movie helped define the franchise’s earliest Mythical Pokémon mystique.
Artist
This card is a milestone for illustrator USGMEN, since Bulbapedia lists Mew ex from Paldean Fates as the very first Pokémon TCG card credited to the artist.
