Giratina Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Card History
This Platinum-era Giratina is especially collectible because the card art shows Giratina in its Origin Forme, while the card itself is simply named "Giratina," giving it a striking early TCG connection to Platinum’s Distortion World identity.
Set Lore
Giratina #28 stands out in the Platinum set because its Pokédex flavor text is taken directly from Pokémon Platinum, tying the card more closely to the game that fully introduced the Distortion World.
Card History
Origin Forme Giratina debuted in "Giratina and the Sky Warrior" before players met it in Pokémon Platinum, which gives this card extra appeal as a snapshot of the form’s breakout era across both the anime and the games.
In-Game
Giratina’s legend centers on being banished for its violence and watching the original world from the Distortion World, making this card’s flavor text one of the clearest TCG echoes of its eerie in-game mythology.
Artist
Illustrator Yusuke Ishikawa gave this card a dramatic, otherworldly pose that fits Giratina’s Renegade Pokémon image and helps the non-holo rare feel far more imposing than its rarity suggests.
