Card History
What makes this card instantly memorable is that Articuno is reimagined as a Darkness-type Pokémon-ex, a deliberate twist Bulbapedia notes breaks the species' normal typing and sells the idea that Team Rocket has corrupted a legendary bird.
Artist
Ryo Ueda's artwork gives Rocket's Articuno ex extra collector identity because this card also carries the distinctive Rocket ex design language from the set, including the spiked art window and Team Rocket branding in the attack box.
