5 facts about this card
This jumbo version spotlights one of the defining cards of Black & White—Next Destinies, the set that officially brought Pokémon-EX back into the TCG, with Mewtwo-EX standing out as one of its headline chase cards.
Mewtwo-EX’s X Ball made the card instantly memorable because its damage scales with the Energy on both Active Pokémon, turning every attachment into a high-stakes mind game for collectors who remember the BW era.
Pulling a Mewtwo card always carries extra nostalgia because Mewtwo headlined the franchise’s first theatrical film, Pokémon: The First Movie — Mewtwo Strikes Back, cementing its status as one of the series’ most iconic legends.
Mewtwo’s crossover fame adds to this card’s aura, since it became a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Melee and later returned in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U and Ultimate.
Illustrator Shizurow gives this card a sleek, high-impact pose that fits Mewtwo’s engineered power perfectly, and the official card database credits Shizurow on both the standard Next Destinies printing and this artwork’s wider card lineage.
