5 facts about this card
This jumbo promo uses the same Mewtwo-EX artwork and attack suite as the regular XY—Evolutions card, turning one of Evolutions’ headline EXs into an oversized display piece collectors instantly recognize from the set’s nostalgic Kanto throwback era.
Because XY—Evolutions was designed as a celebration of the original Pokémon era, a jumbo Mewtwo-EX fits perfectly with the set’s mission of spotlighting iconic Kanto stars that helped define early Pokémon collecting.
Mewtwo’s collector appeal goes far beyond the games, since it starred in Pokémon: The First Movie — Mewtwo Strikes Back, the franchise’s first theatrical film and one of the character’s most enduring pop-culture appearances.
In the original games, players only uncover Mewtwo’s existence late in the adventure through Cinnabar Mansion research logs, which helped cement its mystique as a secret endgame powerhouse long before it became a TCG chase name.
Even though this jumbo card’s provided metadata lists Kagemaru Himeno, the official XY—Evolutions Mewtwo-EX artwork is credited by Pokémon to Eske Yoshinob, a useful detail for collectors who care about exact art attribution across variants and oversized prints.
