M Gallade EX Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Set Lore
M Gallade-EX is one of the headline Mega Evolution cards in XY—Roaring Skies, appearing right after Gallade-EX in the official set checklist as card #35 in the main set.
Card History
This card captures the full XY Mega mechanic era perfectly, since M Gallade-EX carries both the Mega Evolution rule that ends your turn when you evolve and the Pokémon-EX rule that gives up 2 Prize cards when it is Knocked Out.
In-Game
Mega Gallade itself was introduced in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, so this card represents one of the earliest TCG appearances of Gallade’s newly discovered Mega form from the Hoenn remake era.
Card History
Mega Gallade also appeared in the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Animated Trailer, where it battled Mega Diancie, giving this card a direct tie to one of the most stylish showcases of the Mega Evolution era.
Cultural Impact
Collectors love Mega Gallade because its lore leans hard into the noble swordsman fantasy: Bulbapedia notes that it can reshape both arms into blades and that its power comes from its bond with its Trainer, which makes M Gallade-EX feel especially character-driven for a Mega card.
