M Altaria EX Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Card History
M Altaria-EX stands out in XY—Fates Collide as card #121/124, a Rare Ultra full-art Mega that pairs its Fairy typing with the attack Mist Purge and artwork credited to 5ban Graphics.
Set Lore
Fates Collide specifically spotlighted Mega Altaria-EX alongside other headliners like Zygarde, Lugia BREAK, and Umbreon-EX, giving this card a featured place in one of the late-XY era’s most memorable expansions.
In-Game
This card draws its identity from Mega Altaria’s signature twist in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, where Altaria Mega Evolves into the rare Dragon/Fairy type instead of staying Dragon/Flying.
Card History
Mega Altaria also made its mark in the anime era, appearing in the Mega Evolution Special II ending segment and later in the World Coronation Series, helping cement the form as more than just a game mechanic.
Artist
Because this card was illustrated by 5ban Graphics rather than a single character artist, it carries the bold, high-impact CGI look that defined many Mega EX chase cards from the XY period.
