Altaria EX Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Set Lore
Altaria ex δ comes from EX Dragon Frontiers, the set that marked the final appearance of Delta Species Pokémon in the EX era, giving this card a place in the closing chapter of one of the TCG’s most beloved experimental mechanics.
Card History
This card is especially memorable because it turns Altaria into a Water-type Delta Species Pokémon, even though Altaria is normally Dragon/Flying in the video games, which is exactly the kind of type-bending twist collectors chase in the Delta Species era.
In-Game
Altaria is known in the games as a singing, cloud-winged Pokémon whose Pokédex entries emphasize its beautiful humming voice, making the card’s supportive Healing Light attack feel thematically perfect for the species.
Artist
Altaria ex δ was illustrated by Shizurow, an artist who began contributing during the EX era, so this card sits near the beginning of that illustrator’s Pokémon TCG body of work.
Card History
Within the EX Dragon Frontiers checklist, Altaria ex δ is one of the set’s ultra-premium ex cards near the end of the numbering, placing it alongside the headline Delta Species ex pulls that define the set for many vintage collectors.
