  • Tepig. Tepig is the Fire starter, a fire-pig Pokémon whose final evolution, Emboar, adds the Fighting type.
  • Oshawott. Oshawott is the Water starter, a sea otter Pokémon that fights with the shell on its stomach.

Unova region

Unova is the setting of Pokémon Black and White, first released in the US in 2011, and its design is based on the New York City area, making it the first region inspired by a place outside Japan.

Unova is also notably distant from the earlier regions, with no in-game connection to Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, or Sinnoh.
