Altaria [Reverse Holo] Card Facts & History
5 facts about this card
Card History
Altaria’s Evolving Skies print is part of the Sword & Shield set that brought Dragon-type Pokémon back into the era’s spotlight, making this card feel especially at home among the set’s sky-themed heavy hitters.
Set Lore
In the official Evolving Skies checklist, Altaria appears as card 106/203 and is one of the set’s standard rare cards that also received a parallel foil version, which is why the Reverse Holo pull has its own collector appeal.
In-Game
Altaria has a long TCG history, and Bulbapedia records that this species had already appeared on dozens of cards before Evolving Skies, giving this reverse holo a place in a much bigger collector lineage for one of Hoenn’s most beloved Dragon-types.
Card History
This card’s Ability, Tempting Tune, is a very Altaria-style design touch because it trades on the Pokémon’s famous singing image while giving players a clever way to stack a Supporter for the next draw.
Artist
Evolving Skies Altaria was illustrated by Misa Tsutsui, a Pokémon TCG artist whose Bulbapedia profile notes a substantial catalog of card work, adding extra interest for collectors who chase specific illustrators across sets.
