Dragon-type history

Dragon is one of the 15 original types from Generation 1 (1996), but early on it had almost no super-effective attackers, which made it dominant.

Generation 6 (2013) introduced Fairy specifically as a counter, since Fairy resists Dragon and Dragon moves do nothing to it. Ice and Dragon remain the other ways to hit it hard.
